STEWART INSTANCE, President
Mr Instance has extensive consulting and practical experience in the hospitality industry. First entering the hotel business in 1965, he subsequently obtained his undergraduate degree in hotel administration from Cornell University (1970) and a graduate degree in architecture (State University of New York, 1974). He held positions with Four Seasons Hotels, Hyatt Hotels, SAGA Administrative Corporation, and A & W Food Services of Canada and is a past-director of the International Association of Hospitality Accountants.
Stewart has been responsible for the completion of many consulting and management engagements during his career and is a recognized expert in the hospitality industry, providing expert testimony before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Assessment Appeal Board of British Columbia. He has experience in strategic planning, market analysis, concept development, financial analysis and the valuation of hospitality businesses and, as a hotel broker, was directly responsible for the sale of hotels in Banff, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver; he retains his Agent's real estate licence and is also president of INNsight Realty Ltd, a company specializing in the hotel strata management and professional brokerage of hotel properties. Previously, he was responsible for the Leisure Time Industries consulting practice in Western Canada for Laventhol & Horwath, one of the most well-respected names in hotel consulting and valuation.
